Arbre généalogique: la famille africaine de Barack Obama

Le président des États-Unis, Barack Obama, est issu d’une grande famille, qui prend racine sur le continent africain. Pour s’y retrouver, “Jeune Afrique” a reconstitué son arbre généalogique.

Le mois dernier, le Kényan Malik Abongo Obama, l’un des nombreux demi-frères du président des États-Unis, a annoncé sa candidature au poste de gouverneur du département de Siyaya, dans son pays. Plutôt en bons termes avec son illustre parent, Il n’hésite pas à mettre son nom en avant lors de sa candidature et prétend sans ambiguité qu’il aura des liens directs avec la Maison Blanche pour développer sa région. Les photos qui existent où on le voit en compagnie de Barack, dans le bureau ovale, aideront certainement sa communication électorale…

Troisième épouse du grand-père du président américain, Mama Sarah Obama n’est pas la grand-mère de Barack, mais il l’appelle “Granny Sarah”

Depuis que la notoriété de Barack Obama a dépassé les frontières de l’llinois, en 2004, plusieurs membres de sa famille kényane ont attiré, volontairement ou non, la curiosité des journalistes. Mais la liste de ce qui peuvent prétendre avoir du sang commun avec l’un des hommes les plus puissants au monde est longue : sept demi-frères et sœurs, trois belle-mères, trois grand-mères…

Jeune Afrique a dessinée la partie africaine de l’arbre généalogique du président américain, pour y voir plus clair.

And I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you tend not to mind.
